Under the direct leadership and guidance of the Registered Nurse, the PCT performs various duties, both nursing and non-nursing in the treatment and care of patients and their environments.
This will encompass patients of all ages in all levels of growth and development on any assigned unit.
These duties will be performed in accordance with required competency skills, established policies and procedures, and in the best interest of patients, visitors, physicians, community and Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center associates.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent work experience, including ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology Ability to satisfactorily complete orientation inservice training program Good physical and mental health, ability to work under pressure, good visual and aural acuity Must have a positive and professional attitude toward patients, visitors, physicians and all SEORMC associates.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; exhibit initiative and good judgment, possess a memory for details; have patience, compassion and tact, as required to meet the changing demands of the position Must be able to work as a team member and assist in patient care and unit activities both nursing and non-nursing as assigned Above average degree of consistent mental application and accuracy to provide the best possible patient care Possess ability to perform basic computer skills.
Principle
Responsibilities:
Assists in collection of data and reports changes observed in patient condition or behavior to the Registered Nurse at regular intervals.
Contributes to the patient plan of care.
Implements routine patient care and treatment procedures appropriate to age with respect to levels of growth and development under the guidance of the Registered Nurse in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Observes, records, reports to the Registered Nurse such information regarding patient's condition as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration, height, weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry and general physical condition.
Prepares patient for treatments or examinations and assist as necessary.
Consistently makes rounds to patients and anticipates patient's needs/responds to patients needs upon request.
Maintains patient privacy at all times.
Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas.
Performs testing and treatments within scope of competency based skills under supervision of Registered Nurse.
